From Dawei, it’s about an hour’s drive toward Metta Township. After passing through Thinkantone Village, visitors will find themselves at the heart of this serene location. The journey may be short, but the experience promises to be memorable. Although Vemaetah Mountain is not an official recreational area, it offers visitors a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The area is home to Buddhist structures, including stupas and pagodas, which are beautifully integrated into the mountainous terrain. Walking through the site, one can’t help but feel a sense of calm and reverence. One of the highlights of Vemaetah Mountain is the mountain stream that flows gracefully through the valleys. The stream is a refreshing sight, with its gentle flow creating natural waterfalls as it descends the rocky slopes. Exploring further, you’ll come across caves carved into the rocky hills, adding an air of mystery to the site. In front of these caves, intricately designed dragon statues and well-maintained pathways welcome visitors.   For those feeling adventurous, climbing to the upper levels of the stupa structures offers a unique reward. From here, you’ll witness the stream cascading down like a natural fountain—a mesmerizing sight created by the rocky terrain. However, visitors are advised to tread carefully, as the wet rocks can be quite slippery. Speaking from experience, I once took a tumble here myself! 😅 While enjoying the beauty of Vemaetah Mountain, it’s important to keep the area clean and pristine. Visitors are encouraged to take responsibility for their waste—either carry it back with you or dispose of it properly in designated bins.
